Free Turkish soap operas and doramas: where to watch them legally

Turkish soap operas, Korean doramas, Chinese dramas, Indian soaps: the urge to binge stories from other countries only keeps growing in Brazil. The good news is that there are free, legal options on your phone. The honest news is that they don't cover everything: what's free comes with ads, is almost always subtitled, and some genres still have almost no official option at no cost. Here's where to watch, what's paid, and how to stay away from pirate sites.

Prices and availability checked on Google Play and the App Store in Brazil in November 2026.

In a few words

  • Rakuten Viki: the best starting point for doramas, with free content and ads.
  • Pluto TV: soap opera channels that run all day, including one for Turkish soaps in the November guide.
  • YouTube: useful when the video comes from the broadcaster's or distributor's official channel.
  • Globoplay: has doramas and Turkish soaps, but the full catalog is paid.
  • Indian soap operas: we didn't find a free, official app dedicated to them in Brazil.

Free and legal: how to recognize it

Every soap opera and every dorama has an owner. To stream a series, the service has to buy a license from the studio or broadcaster that produced it, and that license lasts for a limited time and for certain countries. That's why a title shows up in one app and disappears months later, or is available in Portugal but not in Brazil. Free services pay for this with ads.

Sites offering "all Turkish soap operas dubbed for free" or "complete doramas with no ads" don't pay for any license. Besides harming those who produce them, they're usually full of pop-up windows, fake download buttons, and requests to install files. A legal app is in the official store, has an identifiable developer, and doesn't ask you to change your phone's security settings.

Where to watch for free

1. Rakuten Viki: the doramas address

The Viki, from the group Rakuten, specializes in Asian productions: dramas from Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand, plus variety shows and K-pop. On Google Play, the app's name already signals it: "doramas in Portuguese." The subtitles are its strong point. According to the app's page, they exist in more than 150 languages and are made with the help of a volunteer community, and all content is officially licensed.

The app has a free tier with ads. Those who want HD and no interruptions can subscribe to the Viki Pass, which the service's page says can be cancelled at any time. Attention: the offer varies from country to country, and the Viki says the subscription doesn't unlock titles blocked in your region. Since subtitling is collaborative, a newly released episode may take a while to be fully translated.

2. Pluto TV: soap opera playing at any hour

The Pluto TV works like free-to-air TV over the internet: each channel has a schedule that runs all day, and you join the episode that's airing. In the guide we consulted in November 2026, the Soap Operas category had four channels. One of them, Amor de Aluguel by Noverama TV, is dedicated to a Turkish soap about Dafne and Ömer. The others were the Pluto TV Novelas and the Novelíssima, with various soap operas, and the Grachi, telling the story of a girl who discovers she's a witch.

It's free and requires no subscription; there's an optional account, also free. Attention: since it's a linear channel, you can't choose the episode or go back to the beginning, and the schedule changes over time. Think of it as the TV you leave on while doing something else, not as a catalog.

3. YouTube: only on official channels

Producers, distributors, and broadcasters from several countries publish clips, trailers, and sometimes full episodes on their own channels on YouTube. The problem is that alongside them there's a lot of video uploaded by people who don't have the rights, and these are often taken down midway through the story.

To tell them apart, open the channel's page before pressing play. The official channel carries the name of the producer or broadcaster, usually has a verification badge next to the name, and has published many different titles for years. Tap the subtitles icon to see which languages are available for that video. Attention: the free version has ads, and the YouTube Premium, which removes them, is paid.

4. Globoplay: if you want to pay

This one is paid, and it makes the list because it gathers doramas and Turkish soaps in a Brazilian app. The Globoplay page on the store lists doramas, Turkish and Mexican soaps, "Novelinhas" (short dramas), and a live soap channel. The free version of the app is much more limited: the store mentions TV Globo , live, children's content, and an episode preview.

Attention: in November 2026, the store was advertising the plan with ads at 12 installments of R$ 19.90, in the annual billing option. Before subscribing, check whether the title you want is in the catalog, because the international offer changes.

And Indian soap operas?

Here the answer has to be frank: in the November 2026 check we didn't find a free, official app available in Brazil dedicated to Indian soap operas with Portuguese subtitles or dubbing. The Pluto TV guide had no specific channel, and the dorama apps focus on East and Southeast Asia.

The safest route is to search for the soap's name on YouTube , and check whether the channel belongs to the Indian broadcaster or distributor, following the same precautions above. If you find a site promising "all Indian soap operas dubbed," be suspicious: there's no sign anyone has a license for that.

How to install safely

Download only from the official store. Those looking for foreign soaps for free end up running into "players" and APK files offered by sites, and that's exactly where viruses hide. None of the apps on this list needs to be installed from outside the store.

On Android

  1. Open Google Play and type the app's name.
  2. Before installing, look at the developer below the title: Viki, Inc, Pluto, Inc., Google LLC or Globo Comunicação e Participações S.A.. Apps with generic names unrelated to these services may appear.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. When opening it, decline permissions that make no sense for a video app, such as access to your contacts.

On iPhone

  1. In the App Store, tap Search and type the app's name.
  2. Check the seller on the page: the Viki, for example, appears as viikii pte ltd.
  3. Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
  4. If a subscription screen appears right at the start, look for the option to continue without subscribing.

Tips for binge-watching without a headache

  • Adjust the subtitles. In the player, choose Portuguese. If they still don't appear on a new episode of the Viki, come back in a few days: the collaborative translation may still be in progress.
  • Use the list. The Viki lets you save series to a personal list, which saves you from searching for the title every time.
  • Note the original name. Turkish soap operas and doramas change names from one country to another. Searching by the original title helps you find the official channel on the YouTube.
  • Wi-Fi for binge-watching. A Turkish soap opera episode can run over an hour, and several in a row on 4G eat into your data plan.
  • Start with episode 1. On the Pluto TV linear channels, you may land in the middle of the story; if you like it, look for the beginning on an on-demand service.

Precautions with soap opera sites and apps

Be wary of any page that, to unlock an episode, asks you to download an app, enter your mobile number or "confirm you are human" by installing something. These tricks are used to sign you up for paid SMS services without your noticing or to install programs that show ads over everything on your phone.

With paid services, the trap is different: the free trial that turns into a charge. If you subscribe to the Viki Pass or another plan through the store, management and cancellation are in the subscriptions area of Google Play or your Apple ID. And if children use the phone, remember that many doramas and Turkish soap operas are made for adults: on the App Store, the Viki is rated 12+.

Frequently asked questions

The Viki Is it really free?

It has a free part with ads. The Viki Pass is the subscription for watching without ads and in HD. What is free depends on the country and can change.

Can you watch it dubbed?

In the free options, rely mainly on subtitles. The strength of the Viki is subtitles in several languages, and the app description does not promise dubbing. When a dubbed Portuguese version exists, it usually comes from a broadcaster or a service that bought the show for Brazil.

Why did a dorama disappear from the app?

Almost always the license has expired or is not valid for Brazil. The Viki notes in the store that availability varies by territory. Sometimes the title comes back later, or it appears on another service.

What is the best free option for Turkish soap operas?

Among the free options we checked, the Pluto TV had an entire Turkish soap opera channel. To choose the episode and watch from the beginning, the Portuguese option we found is the Globoplay, which is paid.
