How this quiz works
These are 10 questions about planet Earth, from the easiest to the hardest. Choose an answer to move on: the correct answer appears at the top of the next page, and the explanation comes just below it.
Count the points yourself, 1 for each correct answer, and see on the last page which range your round fell into. There is nothing to fill in or install.
The questions cover oceans, continents, mountains, deserts, rivers and lakes, the air we breathe, and Brazil's biomes.
Pay attention to the criteria: in record questions, the answer can change depending on whether height, area or volume is measured.
A planet in motion
The landscape that seems fixed is always changing. Tectonic plates move a few centimeters a year, rivers change course, and mountains grow and wear down over millions of years.
Measuring the planet has also become more precise with satellites. Many of the numbers in this quiz, such as the height of Everest, have been updated in recent decades.
The planet is about 4.5 billion years old, and life appeared on it at least 3.5 billion years ago. Modern humans emerged only about 300,000 years ago, a blink of an eye in this history.
